Black Bear Waking.

I spent hours with this male black bear in the fall of 2003, from early in the morning until late in afternoon. I watched him eat, sleep, walk through the woods, drink, and spend what I'm sure is a typical day in the life of a black bear. I managed to take maybe 5 photos that day, of which this is my favorite. The forest setting, the light on his face, and the charming sleepy look make it an image I enjoy. Taken in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN.
