Green Heron
I've watched this bird many, many times, as he feeds in the small marsh pond here. It's incredible to see how accurately this bird can strike into through the thick green duck weed on the pond. Here, he has just caught a small fish for breakfast, but within a few short seconds was back at the task at hand again. Taken in Clayton County, Georgia. (Butorides viroscens).
