Semipalmated Plover

Semipalmated plover, Charadrius semipalmatus, Wrangell St. Elias National Park shorebirds, Alaska.

A bird that was truly a delight to shoot! This Semipalmated plover, a small migratory shorebird, was full of life and ran constantly about the high alpine meadows in which it spends the summers, feeding and chastising the world at the same time. Taken in Chittistone Pass, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Alaska. (Charadrius semipalmatus)
