Snowy Egret
As breeding season approaches, preening becomes even more important for birds, as they do everything they can to increase their chances of finding a mate. This Snowy Egret posed beautifully for me, backed by the green vegetation. Shooting wading birds like this in Florida is almost too easy, as they're far more approachable many places there than they are elsewhere. They're remarkably beautiful birds though, and a treat to photograph. (Egretta thula).
