Tricolored Heron

Tricolored heron, breeding plumage, Egretta tricolor, Florida.

The breeding plumage of the tricolred heron is as vibrant as any of the waders, except for perhaps the cattle egret. This one, slightly past peak, posed nicely for me in the warm evening light. Image taken in Florida. (Egretta tricolor).
