Tricolored Heron

Tricolored heron, Florida wading birds breeding plumage, Egretta tricolor.

The graceul lines and curves of many of the wading birds make for wonderful images. This tricolored heron in breeding plumage, against the deep green backdrop, caught my attention. The birds breeding plumage is part of the annual mating cycle, as they develop the vibrant colors and breeding lores to better attract a potential mate. Image taken in Florida.
