White-tailed Ptarmigan

Here I tried to present an image that portrays the bird a little differently. By almost completely filling the frame with the subject, I have given an timid and small subject a sense of dominance. Typically I like images that give a subject some kind of feeling, rather than simply capturing the subject. This female white-tailed ptarmigan picure was taken in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. The bird was unusually co-operative, and allowed me to spend quite a lot of time with it. (Lagopus leucurus).
