Yellow Crowned Night Heron
This Yellow Crowned Night Heron bird was patrolling the edges of the Chattahoochee River, near Atlanta, Georgia. By spending some time and approaching slowly and quietly, birds and wildlife are often more approachable than we usually expect them to be. This wading bird seemed to fairly glow in the evening light. (Nyctanassa violacea)
