Meeting With The Bear!

Black bear staring through the brush in the forest

-- another favorite of mine. The peek thru the green pine needles gives a sense of mystery, impending danger, and discovery. There's just enough of the bear's form through the brush to define it. This was taken in the Smoky Mtns of Tennessee. I followed the bear for an hour or more, as it wandered the woods in search of food. The bear had been tagged as a cub by the National Parks Service, and I cloned out a small tag off it's right ear in photoshop. I also cropped this image from a horizontal slide.
