Whitetail Deer Breeding.

Again, being in the right place at the right time is what nature photography is all about. I was very fortunate to catch this image of a doe and buck breeding. The buck had just fended off a young, smaller buck, before he mounted this doe. This was the best of the images of that series, the photograph catching the peak of the short-lived action. I took this photo in Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee.
